As required by law, the host Ouvaton, Association Lautre Net, and / or myself keep the connection data to the hosted sites (for 12 months). Ouvaton, Association Lautre Net, and / or myself undertakes never to transfer these connection logs to third parties, nor to make any commercial use of these data, even anonymised. On the basis of the connection logs, a statistics management tool measures the number of visits, the number of pages viewed as well as the activity of visitors on the sites. This information, which is not nominative, is accessible only to the owners of the sites.

Collection of statistics

This site uses Plausible and GoatCounter. All site measurements are done absolutely anonymously. Cookies are not used and no personal data is collected. There are no persistent identifiers. There is no cross-site or cross-system tracking either. Data from this site is not used for any other purpose. In the case of Plausible, all visitor data is processed exclusively by servers owned and operated by European companies and never leaves the EU.

Collection of personal data

If you register with SIX (the BBS) or news sus, I collect personal information in this case. The use is purely functional and the data collected is the bare minimum (name, username, email address and a secure password to access your account) in order to use the service(s). You may choose to provide more, but it is not required.

SIX has a "private mail" and "email" function. As software created in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the security of these functions is not guaranteed. In addition, SysOps (myself) have full access to all BBS messages, including those marked as private.

I strongly recommend that you use another service for any communications you wish to be private, and consider everything you post on the BBS to be public (especially since the connection method is not encrypted).

The Palace chat server logs

If you are using the The Palace server, please note that conversations are recorded in a server log file. All conversations on this server are public.

You do not need to create an account to use this server and additional connection logs are kept (IP address, client version and display name of your client).

Logging for self-hosted services (SIX and The Palace)

Logs are rotated on a regular basis (every 7 days) to save disk space where possible, except where restricted by French law (in some cases, the law may require logs to be kept for much longer than 7 days).

Rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If you have registered for any of the services that have collected personal data, you can change this information yourself via the service interface. You also have the right to modify, delete and access your data. To exercise this right, please use the contact form.

Guilty conscience

Some parts of this site are generated by ChatGPT and Craiyon, either as filler content, or in the case where I lack originality, or in the case where something so stupid is needed that only the stupidest machine in the world can write or draw pure nonsense.
